- The Complete Rhinoceros (1994)
- illustrated by Tony Husband
- Forward by Douglas Adams
About as cuddly as an army tank and temperamentally akin to a
poorly-wired landmine, the rhino nevertheless achieved something
akin to a cult following amongst the more discerning wildlife
enthusiasts. This book is written by two of them – Private Eye’s
Tony Husband and Eco Wars author David Day – and is conceived as
a celebration of the rhino’s 40 million years on earth, and
partly as a way of raising money to keep them here. There are
fewer than 10,000 left and extinction is a genuine threat.
All proceeds from this book of cartoons will go to the
Environmental Investigation Agency’s ‘Save the Rhino Campaign’.
It’s a very worthwhile cause, and this is a very, very funny
book.
